Privacy policy

Last updated 9 August 2026

The short version

  • We collect very little. You can use the whole tracker without an account. Signing up only adds personalisation and saved programmes.
  • We never sell your data, and we do not share it with the employers listed on the site.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it at any time by emailing us.

Who we are

Masar is an independent tracker of internship and graduate programme deadlines in the Gulf, made by students. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any employer listed on the site. For anything in this policy, contact salemalnashwan9@gmail.com.

What we collect

If you do not sign up

Nothing that identifies you. We record anonymous usage events (for example, that an Apply button was pressed for a given programme, or that a filter was used) so we know which programmes students care about. These are not linked to a name or email.

We use Vercel Analytics for visitor counts. It does not use cookies and does not track individuals across websites.

If you create an account

  • Your email address and a securely hashed password.
  • The profile answers you give us: citizenship, university, graduation year, study stage, and sectors you are interested in.
  • The programmes you save.

That profile exists for one purpose: to personalise the tracker, for example showing programmes in your sectors first.

Why we are allowed to hold it

For account data, our basis is the agreement between us: you asked for a personalised tracker, and we cannot provide one without knowing a little about your studies and interests. For anonymous usage events, our basis is a legitimate interest in understanding which programmes are useful, balanced against the fact that these events do not identify you.

Who else can see it

Two service providers process data so we can run the site: Supabase (accounts, profiles, saved programmes) and Vercel (hosting and anonymous analytics). They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not pass your details to employers. When you press Apply you leave Masar for that employer's own site, where their privacy policy applies, not ours.

Where it is stored

Our database and hosting are provided by companies that operate servers outside the UAE, so your account data may be processed abroad under those providers' standard safeguards. If you would rather not have that happen, use the tracker without an account: everything except personalisation and saving works.

How long we keep it

Account data stays until you delete your account. Anonymous usage events are kept for up to 24 months so we can see year-on-year hiring patterns, then removed.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it entirely. You can correct most of it yourself on your profile. For deletion, email us and we will remove your account and saved programmes within 30 days.

Age

Masar is intended for university students and graduates. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before creating an account. If we learn that we hold data for someone under 16 without that consent, we will delete it.

Accuracy of listings

Deadlines and application details are gathered from employers' public careers pages and checked regularly, but they change without notice. Always confirm on the employer's own site before relying on a date here. Masar is not responsible for a missed application.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
